FIRST project aims to increase the level of awareness of the general public regarding domestic and gender-based violence. Raising awareness goes hand in hand with providing relevant, accurate, and comprehensive information. For this reason, project partners prepared a report including a field overview and analysis. The AIRE (Advice on Individual Rights in Europe) Centre acted as the leading partner of this activity and project partners have compiled the report whose aim is to cover the theoretical basis and fundamental concepts of the FIRST project over the next two years, as well as to identify any potential problems.
The report initially provides an insight into the definition of domestic and gender-based violence. It addressed the causes and reasons behind such violence. Furthermore, the report addresses the challenges in identifying potential victims. Last but not least, it presents the rights of the victims and appropriate responses of individuals who talk and work with the victims.
This is only the first step of many that are going to be made in FIRST project, so don’t hesitate to come back to learn more about domestic and gender-based violence.
