Handbook on the “Psychosocial support to victims of domestic and gender-based violence”

Within the framework of the “First Project- Capacity Building for First Points of Contact for Victims of Domestic and Gender-based Violence”the project partners designed and produced a Handbook “Psychosocial support to victims of domestic and gender-based violence”.

The handbook is intended for both professional and general public, and it consists of three parts.

The first part of the handbook deals with the “ABC of domestic and gender based violence”. In this part, readers can find relevant and important information about the different types and forms of domestic and gender-based violence, as well as the prevalence and risk factors of such violence.

The second part of the handbook provides useful information, guidelines and recommendations on how to recognize violence, identify victims, respond appropriately and take action when dealing with acts as well as victims of domestic and gender-based violence.

The last part of the handbook provides readers with information on victims’ legal rights and forms of assistance and services available to them.

In addition to the handbook, the partners have created a leaflet with basic information, which is useful both for people experiencing violence, as well as for those who can provide help and support.
